SPEAKER_00Hey there and welcome back to Resource Monday. I'm Denny Caballero. And if you're new here, this is where we dig into the tools, services, and resources that can actually make a difference in your life as a veteran. Not to fluff, not to feel good stuff that doesn't actually help. Real actionable resources that can move the needle. Today's episode is a little different, and I want to be up front about it from the jump. I've got an announcement to make, and it's one I'm genuinely excited about. After a lot of research and a lot of vetting and a lot of conversations with veterans in our community, I've officially partnered with a company called American Medical Experts. This is an exclusive partnership, meaning if you're listening to this show and you need help with the medical documentation side of your VA claim, I've got a direct line set up for you to my own select group of providers. You can get started on your medical evaluation journey right now by clicking the link in the episode description. I'll come back to that, but let me tell you why this matters and why I'm willing to put my name on it. As a veteran and someone that works on a daily basis with other veterans dealing with issues with VA and disability claims, I see the same frustrating pattern over and over again. You know you've got service connected conditions, you know something's wrong, your body's telling you every single day, but when it comes to proving it to the VA, that's where everything falls apart. And look, I get it. The VA system isn't designed to be easy. It's designed to be thorough, which often means it's complicated as hell. That complexity costs veterans real money. Benefits they've earned, financial stability they deserve, and frankly, peace of mind they need to move forward with their lives. So when I started looking into who was actually getting results for veterans in this space, American medical experts kept coming up. I dug in, I looked at their track record, and yeah, I even contacted some of you folks on Reddit. I looked at their doctors, I looked at the complaints and the wins, and what I found convinced me that this is a resource worth standing behind. Let me paint you a picture that's probably familiar. Get out of service, you know your back's messed up from all those jumps, your knees are shot from years of rocking, or maybe you're dealing with sleep issues that start at downrange. You file your VA claim, and what happens? Either they deny it outright or they give you some insulting 10% rating that doesn't come close to covering the reality of how this condition affects your daily life. So you go back to your primary care doctor, if you can even get an appointment, and you ask them to write a letter connecting your condition to your service. And what do they tell you? I don't really know how to write that kind of letter. Or I'm not familiar with the VA requirements. Or my personal favorite, I don't have time to research all of that. And there you are, stuck. You've got a legitimate service-connected condition, but you can't get the medical documentation that speaks the VA's language. It's like having all the right ingredients for a recipe, but nobody knows how to cook the damn meal. And this is where a lot of veterans give up. They accept the 10% rating and they just stop fighting altogether. And that's exactly what we can't let happen. And this is exactly why I partnered with American Medical Experts. Wanted you have a resource you can trust, better by somebody who has skin in this community, with direct path to get started. Click the link in the episode description and you'll be connected to a select group of providers today. So what exactly is American Medical Experts? They're a company that specializes in translating your medical reality into a language that VA actually understands and accepts. They've been doing this for over 30 years. They're a BBB accredited with an A plus rating, and they've handled more than 6,000 cases. Here's what I really like about them and what made me comfortable putting my name on this partnership. They're not a rubber stamp service. Their doctors won't put their medical licenses on the line by writing opinions for conditions that don't have proper documentation. That tells me they've got integrity in the space. And that matters. I wasn't going to partner with anyone who was just collecting fees and sending veterans in circles. Let me break down what they actually do because this is where it gets practical. First, they write what's called a Nexus letter. If you're not familiar with that term, a nexus letter is basically a medical opinion that connects your current condition to your military service. It's not just your doctor saying, yeah, his bad's messed up. It's a board certified physician reviewing your entire medical history, your service records, your current medical evidence, and then writing a detailed medical opinion that explains in clinical terms how your service cost or aggravated your condition. Second, they handle DVQs. That's disability benefits questionnaires for those who haven't been through the rodeo yet. These are specific VA forms that, when completed properly by a qualified physician, carry significant weight in your claim. The key phrase there is complete it properly. There's a specific way the VA wants these filled out, and most civilian doctors just don't know the ins and outs of them. They also do independent medical evaluations. So if you need a comprehensive assessment of your condition by a specialist who understands both the medical side and the VA requirements, they can provide that. And here's something that's really relevant in today's world. They offer telehealth evaluations, so you don't have to travel across the country to get seen by a qualified physician. You can do this from your living room. Click the link in the episode description and you can literally start this process today without leaving your couch. They also specialize in some of the more complex claim types that honestly most veterans don't even know exist. Things like TDIU, that's total disability, individual unemployability. If your service connected conditions prevent you from maintaining substantial, gainful employment, you might be eligible for TDIU, which pays you about 100% rate even if your combined rating is less than that. They also handle aid and attendance claims, permanent and total ratings, special monthly compensation. These are all areas where documentation requirements are incredibly specific, and the difference between getting it right and getting it wrong is thousands of dollars a month. Now I know what some of you are thinking, Denny, this sounds expensive. And I'm already struggling financially. I get it. I'm not going to sugarcoat this. Their services aren't free. But here's the thing to consider. What's the cost of getting the right rating you deserve? I've seen veterans leave tens of thousands of dollars on the table because they couldn't get proper documentation. Talking about difference between 30% rating and a 70% rating, which could be five to eight hundred dollars per month every month for the rest of your life. Doing the math. We're talking about hundreds and thousands of dollars over a lifetime. And look, I also want to address the elephant in the room right now. Some of you might be thinking, why should I have to pay someone to get benefits I've already earned? And you're absolutely right to feel that way. This shouldn't be necessary. But the reality is the VA system is what it is, and while we can work on chaining it long term, we've got bills to pay right now. Let me talk credibility for a while because this matters to me. I don't put my name on things lightly. It's not how I approach this stuff. It means a lot to me to be able to partner with somebody that I know has been doing great work for the veteran space for a while. In this space, there are definitely some bad actors. I've seen services that promise guaranteed results. I'm telling you, run from those. I've seen companies that don't use licensed physicians. And again, avoid them like the plague. American Medical Experts has solid credentials. They're using board-certified physicians. They've got that A plus and BBB rating. And when we look at the reviews from actual veterans, the feedback is generally positive. I'm seeing 3.9 stars across multiple review platforms. And more importantly, I'm seeing specific success stories. One veteran wrote that they went from 10% rating to 90% rating with help of AME's Nexus Letters. Another said they finally got their sleep apnea claim approved after struggling with it for years. These aren't just generic. God, they're amazing people and doing great things, types of reviews. These are veterans talking about specific life-changing outcomes. Now, I also found a few complaints, and I want to be transparent about that. The main issue I saw was around the refund policy. Once they start work on your case, it's non-refundable. That's something to be aware of going in. Make sure you're committed before you pull the trigger. Let me also tell you what kind of veterans should be considering this resource and reaching out through the link in the description. First, if you're stuck at a low disability reigning despite having legitimate conditions that clearly impact your daily life, this might be worth exploring. Second, if your private doctors are either unwilling or unable to write VA specific documentation, and honestly, this is more common than you think. Civilian physicians just don't deal with the VA system regularly. So they're not familiar with the specific language and requirements. Third, if you're dealing with secondary conditions, this is a big one that a lot of veterans miss. Maybe you've gotten service connected back injury and now you're developing hip problems because of how you're compensating. That hip condition could be secondary to your already service-connected back injury, but proving that connection requires specific medical language and documentation. And finally, if you're considering TDIU or some of those other complex claims I mentioned earlier, having expert help with documentation can make the difference between approval and years of appeals. So here's how to use this partnership. Click the link in the episode description. That's going to take you directly to my select group of providers at American Medical Experts. No wandering around trying to figure out who to talk to, no wondering if you're getting the standard intake or something better. You're getting the path I set up for this community. Start with their free consultation. Gives you a chance to explain your situation and see if they think that you can actually get help from them. Let me be clear. If they don't think they can help you in a specific case, they'll tell you. That's part of why I agreed to the partnership with them in the first place. Before that consultation, gather all your relevant medical records. I mean everything. Military medical records, any civilian treatment records, imaging studies, lab results, all of it. The more complete picture they have, the better they can assess whether they can help you or not. Document your service sister as it relates to your conditions. When did the injury or exposure happen? What was your MOS? Where were you stationed? What specific duties did you perform that might have caused or aggravated the condition? The more detail you can provide, the stronger the Nexus letter can be. Ask about timelines. How long will it take to get your documents? What's the review process like? When can you expect to have something to submit to the VA? And get everything in writing. The fee structure, what deliverables you receive, timelines, everything. This protects both you and them, and any legitimate service will be happy to provide this. I also want to mention that American Medical Experts works alongside, not in place of, the other resources you should be tapping into. Don't overlook your traditional VSOs. That's veteran service organizations like the VFW, American Legion, the DAV. These guys offer free help with claims, and while they can't provide the medical opinions that AME specializes in, they can help you navigate the process and identify what documentation you might need. Many states also have their own veteran affairs office with service officers who know the local resources that can help and provide guidance. Think of it as a team approach. Your VSO helps you work the claim. My partners are American medical experts, provide the medical documentation that gives your claim the teeth it needs. Stepping back for a minute, this whole topic really highlights something that bothers me about the current system. You got veterans who serve honorably, who have legitimate service connected conditions, and they're having to hire private companies to help them navigate a system that's supposed to be there for them. And that's not right. And while we work on systemic changes, and there are people fighting that every single day, you can't wait for the system to get fixed to take care of your own situation. It's part of why I said yes to this partnership. Veterans are going to have to work around the system. I want to make sure you've got a trusted path to do it. Your service connected conditions are real. The impact they have on your life is real, and the benefits you're entitled to are real. Don't let inadequate documentation cost you what you've earned. So here's your action item for the week. If you're struggling with your VA claim, if you're not getting the rating you know you deserve, click the link in the episode description. It's going to take you straight to my select group of providers and American medical experts. Request a free consultation, see what they say, and go from there. Because here's what I know after years of working with veterans. The only claims that definitely don't get approved are the ones that never get filed. And the ones that get filed without proper documentation. You've served with honor, you've sacrificed for this country. Make sure you get the support you've earned. That's it for this week's Resource Monday. If you found this helpful, share it with the veteran who might need to hear it. And if you start the process through my link, come back. Let me know how it goes. Your experience helps other veterans make informed decisions. Next week, we're going to be talking about financial resources for veteran entrepreneurs. So if you're thinking about starting a business or you're already running one, make sure you tune in. Until then, take care of yourselves, take care of each other. We'll see y'all next time.
