SPEAKER_00Welcome back to another episode of Security Podcast, and today it's Resource Monday. So let's dive into some nonprofits that are making a huge impact in the veteran space. Today, I want to talk about Talents Reach, Warrior's Heart, Task Force Dagger, and Warrior Rising. First one, Talents Reach. Talents Reach was founded by Nick Jones and is based out of Montana. Nick is a former Marine Raider, great dude, and he's doing amazing work out of Montana with supporting our special operations veterans. The support specifically guys or gals are dealing with PTSD, moral injury, and uh or mental health struggles by providing sanctuary, mindfulness, healing experiences, and recovery resources. Foundation's mission grew from the belief that special operations veterans need a place to reconnect, heal, and rebuild through community, purpose, and time in the great outdoors. And you're not going to find a better program that takes you into the wilds of Montana to experience some real thrilling awe. As I've talked before on the show, awe is an emotion that few of us uh put time and effort into once we get back from combat, and then we're left with this idea that the greatest thing we've done or seen are in those far-off places where we face danger. But the reality is you can reconnect with that emotion and redefine what greatness is by just getting outdoors, seeing some spectacular views. And uh, Talons Reach Foundation is doing just that. Uh link to their nonprofit will be in the episode description. Next up is Warrior's Heart. Warrior's Heart was founded by Josh Lannon, Leeson Lannon, and retired Delta Force operator Tom Spooner. If you've been on T if you watch TV or been addicted to some amazing podcasts, you probably have seen Tom Spooner recount not only his times in uh Delta Force, but all of his personal trials and tribulations that led him to seek help and then was the catalyst for creating Warrior's Heart. The organization is headquartered in Bendera, Texas, near San Antonio, with an additional campus in Virginia. Warrior's Heart was created after founders recognized the high rates of PTSD, addiction, and suicide among veterans and first responders. And they wanted to build a treatment center designed specifically for warriors by Warriors. Their model focuses on peer support, trauma recovery, addiction treatment, and mental health care in a private, non-hospital environment. If you and a loved one are dealing with addiction, whether it's alcohol or other types of drugs, please understand that we need you in the fight. Understand you can fight this monster, you can win, and reach out to Warrior's Heart today. Don't wait, get help now. Next one is Task Force Dagger. One of our recent guests, Jeff Dartia, is uh one of the leaders there. And Task Force Dagger is doing amazing things for our SOF uh veterans. Uh it was founded by retired Command Serge Major Rick Walker and a handful of other SOF veterans. The organization is based in Tampa, Florida, and it was established in 2009 after the founder saw major gaps in support for special operations veterans and their families. Following years of war in Iraq and Afghanistan, Task Force Dagger provides emergency assistance, rehabilitation, wellness programs, and long-term support for wounded, ill, and injured special operations service members from every branch of the SOF community. Now, I know a lot of people think Task Force Dagger is just, it is, it is for the community. But the one thing that I know for a fact, and Jeff talked about it in our episode, um, when you reach out to them, even if you're not a soft veteran, Jeff's going to do everything he can to pass you off to a nonprofit that can help. Um, but if you're part of the community, if you're part of the regiment, please reach out to Task Force Dagger today, get help. Uh there's no shortage of issues that we are all facing. And it's a m- it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when. With the operator syndrome, TBI issues, neuroendocrinology issues, there's tons of stuff that are are just constantly being uh highlighted on shows, podcasts, you name it. Health issues are real, and you can't afford to just pretend like it's not going to affect you. So it's best to just start getting checked out. Go get some scans, go do some blood work, and Task Force Dagger can help you today. Last one, certainly not least, is Warrior Rising. Now we talk about mental resilience, mental health in this podcast a lot, specifically when it comes around the transition time. Um, transition is a beast, but the number one thing people will continue to leave out is the financial pressure. You spent 20 plus years, 15 years, 10 years relying on that government paycheck. And one of the biggest stressors when you go into transition is how are you going to make a living? How are you going to put food on the table? What are the next steps? And for many veterans, owning a business and becoming an entrepreneur is something that it can be a real goal. It can really work out, but you need the right structure. You need the support and the institutional knowledge and know-how. And that's where Warrior Rising comes in. Warrior Rising was founded by Jason Van Camp, former Green Beret officer, and is headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah. The organization was launched in 2015 after Jason himself saw that many veterans struggle with finding purpose and opportunity after leaving the military. Warrior Rising helps veterans and military spouses build businesses through mentorship, training, funding opportunities, and entrepreneurial support so they can create meaningful careers and continue serving through business ownership. Like I said before, one of the biggest stressors once you get out of the military is that financial piece. How are you going to be able to make a living? How are you going to be able to provide for yourself? But most importantly, how are you going to be filled, how are you going to be fulfilled after a career that for a lot of us was a huge piece of our identity? That's one of the big key things that I love about Worry Arising. It helps you identify what your next chapter is going to be. And if business ownership is right for you, the greatest thing about them is that their first course is all self-paced online. So you can go there today. The links to all these nonprofits will be in the episode description. So please, if it's not for you, maybe it's for one of your friends. Be willing to check it out. Go to the episode description, click the link, share it with a friend, share it with your group, your community. It could help save a life. That's the reality of these nonprofits. And maybe you're not ready to talk to your friend that's in trouble, that's dealing with things. This could be a great way to break the ice with any of these discussions, whether it's somebody dealing with active addiction, addiction, or somebody that's dealing with a crisis when it comes to reinventing themselves and finding their actual purpose when it comes to finding an employment. So please take the time, share it with a friend, talk, discover it, be willing to engage and communicate with those around you. Have those hard conversations. And that leads me to the final thing I'd like to talk about on this episode. And that's the Special Forces Foundation's ladies' initiative, Project Reach. Look, we have to get out of this idea that some giant organization or some big entity is going to solve veteran suicide. It's not. It's up to us. Grassroots movement. And the Special Forces Foundation is challenging you, not just soft veterans, but every veteran, every service member, anybody that's an ally to these communities and let LEOs. We're challenging you, challenging you to connect with five of your friends and stay connected. Text, call, check up, make it a weekly battle rhythm. You can't expect what you don't inspect. And that's what we're learning, and that's what we've known about suicide. Everybody wants to reach out when there's a crisis moment, but the reality is we have to get ahead of it. If you're in touch with your friends, if you're constantly talking, you're engaging in those hard discussions every once in a while, asking if you're good, if you're okay, tell me the truth. What are you struggling with? If we're doing that work, the likelihood that person's going to come for you for support, and there's a higher likelihood that person's going to trust you and share with you what's really going on. So please, write out your five. Make it a daily thing. Establish that battle rhythm and stay connected. All right, guys, that's it for today. Thank you all for tuning in. Thank you for supporting the show. More importantly, thank you for being there for each other and continuing to grow this community. I'm grateful for all of you. And if you need anything, please reach out.com, slide into the DMs on this on Instagram. Or, you know, if you got my personal number, hit me up. I'm always here for you guys. And uh I really appreciate everything that you're doing for each other. Because as a community, we have to look out for one another. All right, guys, until next time. Take care.
